Eco Council

We are the Eco Council for 2018-2019

After a busy year last year,  we were awarded our 6th Eco flag for all the wonderful work we do towards caring for our planet.

We took part in the School’s Sustainability Conference last June at Blackburn Rovers and came second in the competition to sing an eco-themed song. We won £100 which we’re putting towards a bench for the playground!

This spring, we will be turning our attention to the vegetable garden and will be hoping to grow lots of yummy fruits and vegetables. We are hoping to get some help from our friends in the community to plant our seedlings and make the best of our garden this spring and summer. We have also entered the Grow Your Own Potatoes competition, so watch this space to see how we get on with that!

As a school we try and recycle as much as possible and collect a variety of items that can be recycled. We are taking part in the 'Big Battery Hunt' again this year run by Duracell.

We will collect the batteries in school along with used stamps for the RSPB, printer cartridges, mobile phones and pairs of glasses.
