'Let your light shine' (Matthew 5:16)

Footsteps Ethos Group

Jesus helps to guide us on our journey through life. Our aim is to develop all of our spirituality in a creative and imaginative environment where we all learn to value and respect others. We want our school to be filled with happiness and joy and to be a place where we all can reach our full potential.

We are the Footsteps Ethos Group of Thurnham Glasson Church of England Primary School. We would like to tell you a little about our Footsteps Ethos group and the impact that it has had on our amazing school.

Four years ago Mrs Duncan asked if anyone would like to be part of an Footsteps Ethos group to help our children understand the new values we were going to work on. Over the past four years Mrs Duncan has enabled us to carry out all sorts of activities, such as leading worship. We meet once a fortnight to work on the value for that half term and decide on the activities we would like to do. We now run our group with the support from Mrs Dickinson, a parent and leader of our local Sunday school. We meet with Mrs Duncan to ask for resources or to discuss larger projects such as the fundraising events or the Bishop Bridgeman Ethos conference that we like to attend every year.

We lead activities and support others to enable our school community to live out our core values. Our Footsteps Ethos group aim is to help others to understand more about our values and how children and adults can apply these values in their every day lives. We believe through values we have made our school community better citizens and act as good people to help others.
