'Let your light shine' (Matthew 5:16)

Modern Britain

Modern Britain

Thurnham Glasson C of E Primary School is committed to serving its local, national and international community. We recognise the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing landscape of the United Kingdom.  As a Church school, we actively promote values, virtues, ethics and the Fruits of the Spirit that shape our children' character and moral perspective, through the teachings of the Church and within our worship.  We encourage children and staff to witness these values in their everyday lives. The teachers’ standards expect teachers to uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school.  This includes not undermining fundamental British values. We are confident that our continued focus on the Gospel will give our children the necessary awareness of what it means to be a good citizen in Britain today and embed in them the building blocks of a future successful and productive life. We teach about democracy, civic responsibility, rules and laws, the monarchy, equality, values and virtues through environmental awareness and understanding of other faiths. The school uses opportunities to promote these values across the curriculum, PSHCE and the rich ethos of our school. The school seeks to serve all so that all feel a sense of belonging and welcome.
